Take A Trip To Spain

February 19, 2012.

Ah Spain, it’s a wondrous land where stereotypes often come to life and magic happens amongst its diverse and various bounties. The Spanish are a people of passion, from food to football to wine and art, nothing escapes them – and they offer the highest calibre of all of these things.

Spain is worth visiting and travelling to; let’s take a look at a few reasons why.

The Arts And Culture

If you enjoy Museums and a bit of culture, you’ll be right at home in Barcelona and Madrid. Barcelona is a great spot to get a history lesson on Picasso (this was his haunt for many years and where he grew up), and Madrid offers up ‘The Golden Triangle’ of Museums, including the world famous Del Prado.

As for culture, simply walk around, eat some tapas and stop for some Paella at a small local restaurant. Then party the night away, get up early, visit the beach and have a Spanish siesta in the afternoon. Sounds perfect to me!

Another great way to soak up a bit of local Spanish passion is to attend a football match. If you can get tickets for an FC Barcelona versus Real Madrid game (they’re hard to get), then you won’t see anything else quite like it in your life.

Wine & Food

San Sebastian is a great spot to visit to try the ‘Pinxtos’. It’s high cuisine in small style, delicacies layered on a slice of baguette for reasonable prices. The food all around Spain is generally tasty, and a big Paella dish washed down with a spot of red wine always goes a treat.

If you’re looking to party, then any Spanish city will do the trick. Both Barcelona and Madrid have thriving and heaving night lives (expect to stay up to the early hours of the morning), and if you’re really up for a party you can even head on over to Ibiza off the coast of Valencia.

Spain is a lovable country with lots of charm, and it’s a nice place to visit for solo travellers, couples and even families too.
