Best HP Laptops For Students

May 15, 2012.

In college you will likely find that you spend a large portion of your day in front of a computer either writing papers, researching projects, or simply updating Facebook. Because of this you’ll want to make sure you have a laptop that will last as long as you will be in school and fast enough that you won’t wait minutes between each operation.

The solution to this is buying a brand new HP laptop, HP is know for its great laptops for students and selling them at a good price.

The HP g6s is one of the newest and one of the best student laptops this year. It comes with the energy efficient 2nd Gen Core i3-2310, which provides a modest 2.1 GHz. But it does have 4 GB of memory which means everything will be able to cached quickly in the RAM, even streaming HD videos, which are supported by the high resolution screen and graphics card.

The weight of the g6s series of laptops is also good, at 5.5 lbs with the standard battery. This means that it won’t be the straw that breaks the camels back with all of the giant textbooks and notebooks already in your backpack.

The stylings of this laptop are also very nice. Glossy cover with customizable colors, rounded corners, and a generally sleek design make it a very attractive laptop.

The other HP laptops that make it into the student laptop roundup are the dm1z series, which is a full powered netbook, and the g7t is a desktop replacement laptop. The two large laptops aren’t laptops under 500 dollars which means many students will by the dm1z based on price alone. But if you do make that choice you will sacrifice some power and lots of screen real estate, which is not a sacrifice I or the average college student should make.
