Probably, the most unwanted event in the teenage to adulthood phase of a person’s life is having acne. Unfortunately, breakouts of acne usually occur unexpectedly.

Teenagers, who are at the most mindful stage of their looks and of the opposite sex, are the main sufferers of this unpleasant problem. Most of the time, they too are the culprits of this dilemma especially when it comes in managing it. They tend to commit practices that make matters worse, like squeezing and pinching the disgusting bumps just to make it disappear. Luckily for acne sufferers there are acne home remedies that can help.

Acne should be treated patiently and wisely. You should consider the factors that predispose you in developing acne such as hormonal upsurge or imbalance, unbalanced and unhealthy diet, pollution, and cosmetic use for women. These factors can cause or can contribute to further development of acne which should be addressed seriously for these acne home remedies to be successful.

Follow these simple steps to end your acne-induced nightmares:

1. Eat healthy. Choosing the right kinds of food is really helpful in avoiding acne breakouts. Stay away from junk food, fried foods, all processed foods especially processed meats, spicy foods, and sugary deserts. Eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables which are natural ways to fight acne.

2. Drink a lot of fluids. Fresh fruit juices, soups, teas and especially water help keep your skin healthy. The body needs a glass of water for every 7 kilograms of the total body weight. When you drink a cup of coffee, make sure to take two glasses of water afterward. Avoid coffee as much as you can, it is a diuretic and can trigger acne.

3. Use water to wash your face. As much as possible, do not use soap to wash your face. Soap can easily harm and dry out the skin especially when used often, and it can even worsen your acne. Wash your face with clean water and pat it dry with a clean towel, do not use rubbing motions in drying your face. You can also use an infusion of chamomile instead of water to wash your face. Mix 3 teaspoons (or teabags) of chamomile tea in 250ml of boiling water then let it stand for 15 minutes. When it is cool, filter the infusion and apply it on your face using a cotton ball. Chamomile is known for its antiseptic and astringent qualities to help clean your skin.

4. Consume lots of fiber rich food. Foods that are rich in fiber are cereals, grains, bran, fruits and vegetables. Fiber cleans your bowel by sweeping all the toxins that build up which can cause acne if not eliminated properly.

5. Avoid cosmetics. Cosmetics can clog the pores of your skin which can lead to breakouts. Also, some cosmetics have harsh chemicals that can damage your skin. If you cannot avoid using cosmetics, make sure to clean your face properly after using them. Hope you enjoyed these acne remedies.
